Cancer, This Means WAR

A 40-Day Prayer Battle Plan for Strength, Peace, and Faith in the Fight

A Devotional for Cancer Warriors, Caregivers, and Loved Ones

Cancer changes everything. It disrupts your body, hijacks your calendar, and whispers fear in the middle of the night. But cancer does not get the final word.

In this powerful 40-day devotional, breast cancer survivor Susan Flowers shares the spiritual battle plan that carried her through diagnosis, treatment, fear, and the fight to stand firm in faith.

Each day includes Scripture to anchor your thoughts and equip you for battle, honest reflections from the front lines, intercession for other patients, caregivers, and loved ones, bold declarations of truth, and guided prayers.

Whether you are newly diagnosed, in treatment, recovering, waiting on results, grieving, or supporting someone you love, this devotional will help you pray boldly, stand firmly, and walk with God through the fight.

The battle is real. But so is your God.

Cancer may have entered your story, but it is not the Author. God is the Author of your story.

And He says:

Cancer. This. Means. War!

  • What is a cancer prayer journal workbook? A guided workbook with space for prayer, reflection, Scripture, and processing the cancer journey.
  • How can journaling help during cancer treatment? Journaling helps capture emotions, prayers, questions, gratitude, and moments of hope along the way.
  • What should I write in a cancer reflection journal? You can write prayers, fears, answered prayers, treatment notes, Scripture reflections, and encouragement.
  • Is there a Christian workbook for processing cancer? Yes, Susan’s companion workbook helps readers reflect, pray, and respond to cancer with faith.
  • How can a workbook help caregivers support someone with cancer? It gives caregivers guided space to pray, process emotions, and find practical encouragement.

For Bible Studies & Small Groups

Cancer, This Means War, along with the accompanying workbook, was written to be used both individually and in a group setting. It is well suited for church groups, Bible studies, cancer support groups, and small groups walking through cancer together.

Having led Bible studies and small groups for many years, I have seen firsthand the strength that comes from gathering together in faith. Cancer often tries to isolate us, but God so often works through community.

It is through sharing honestly, praying for one another, encouraging one another, and allowing ourselves to be vulnerable that we find strength.

During my own cancer journey, I found that the more I prayed for others, the more peace God gave me for myself.

That is one of my hopes for this book and workbook: that they will cultivate meaningful conversations, deeper prayer, honest encouragement, and a community of people willing to stand beside one another in faith and prayer.

Because no one should have to fight alone.
